The British Motor Show on Flickr

If you caught the DLR (Docklands Light Rail) to the 2006 British Motor Show at ExCeL London, you should’ve made it without any trouble. Since, at Canning Town station, rail staff continuously blasted instructions over their loud speakers to travellers and tourists – “…[bla bla] board this train if you’re goin’ to the mota’ show” or “…[bla bla] DO NOT board this train if you’re goin’ to the mota’ show”. Yep, good effort.

Anyway, I took some pics of cars and err… more cars. Unfortunately, there were no hot girls there (as you might see in a Japanese car show?), neither were there many boy racer accessories (like you might see in NZ). This was a pure, British show, after all.

This was one of my favourites – a Ferrari made of wool! I could almost afford one…

Speaking of Flickr, I’ve just found out another limitation with it’s free account service – you can only have 200 photos! Here’s a short list of all limitations I’ve discovered thus far:

  • Allows only 3 sets (folders) maximum – workaround is to use unique tags and view by tag
  • 20 meg upload limit per month – not such a problem
  • Only 200 photos can exist in your photostream (the oldest drop off and don’t appear when you view all photos) – but again, you can find them by viewing by tag

Nite.

Yahoo and Microsoft join forces (for real)

In fear of Google Talk or even Skype, Yahoo and Microsoft negotiated a deal in 2005 to secure them with the largest market share in the messaging business. Yahoo in bed with Microsoft? Yes, we’re no longer in the 90’s, same-sex marriages are a reality these days.

Well finally, after many months of waiting for it to become official, the Yahoo and Microsoft Live Messenger (MSN) networks are now technically joined by the hip. That’s right, you can add users from either network using only one client (I use Yahoo, of course).

You’ll need to install the latest version to try it out:

Give me a holla if you want to add me :)

Update: currently I’ve only been able to speak to one person on MSN using Yahoo Messenger – and he had to manually register some details on the MSN website (but he still seems unavailable on my list even though I can message him). So at present, it’s not working 100%…!
