golf balls, mofo tofu and cake

March, the month that’s been… golf balls, mofo tofu and cake.

Making it to a London driving range was on my list of todos… whilst not a huge milestone in the grand scheme of things, it was definitely a nice personal feat. Throwing my clubs in the boot, cruising down the road to the local range, windows down and sun shining – a peaceful memory in retrospect. This time, a tube to Waterloo, connecting train to Earlsfield plus a fifteen minute walk, finally… to Central London Golf Centre.

Mmm… so, a small (okay tiny) range (maybe 170m in length?) with bonus automatic ball dispensors… as you can see:

Cost analysis:

  • 100 balls: £5.50
  • Club hire: free
  • Diet Coke with Citrus Zest (500ml): £1

Mofo, anyone?

Had a dodgy chinese at work one Friday (seafood wok-fried hor fun). Yep, felt really rough after lunch – never again! Interestingly enough, my team mates ordered their trademark dish, “Mofo tofu”. The real name being of course, Mapo Doufu. Classic. From now on, I’m having the mofo!

One year old – yet another dj

To celebrate the birth of “yet another dj”, there was cake (and two candles, lol)… a fantastic black forest gateau from Paul.

PS: the Blackcaps blew away the Windies yesterday – check out this rando page with the NZ team and their horoscopes.

PS2: I received some fan mail today (horay!)… but it was 14p short and I have to pay £1.14 to get it delivered!

PS3: is soo expensive… overatted.

Social networking is manky

Grr… in the past week I’ve been invited to join:

  • Friendster
  • Bebo
  • Facebook
  • Tagged

Okay, It’s hard work keeping up with your “friends” in real-life, so doing so on the web seems like a reasonable solution. However, this rather innocuous user need has spawned off many sinister mutants; have you seen the catastrophe that is (OMG) MySpace? I’ve meet some normal people but once seen their MySpace pages, I’ve had to question their mental state and personal decency. Yep, so many sites are bad, some are okay… but the user network will ultimately drive the technology and the site who wins. Very, very scary.

No one likes maintenance. Maintaining more than two social networking sites will only bring you down; it suppose to be fun, not a chore! If you use any more then shame on you… polluting the web with meaningless guff whilst spreading your data trail everywhere. I know, it’s infectious, but use your common sense or you’ll succumb to being “yet another Internet gimp”.

On a brighter note, my hand (cusping a Tiesto Nyana sweatband) has become famous on goggle search and on a Facebook group… oh glorious hand!

Cricket World Cup 2007… begins!

Yes, it has begun! Admittedly, I’ve been pretty slack keeping up with the Black Cap’s progress leading up to the 2007 Cricket World Cup. But boy, I’m back into the swing of things! Some of the apples at work have been extra shiny and red too.

Mmm… so which team should I support – home, or home “sweet” home? Well, maybe I’ll choose the team who looks more staunch in their promotional banner…

The Kiwis feature an all star lineup, including Vettori, Bondy, Styris (aka “The Pig” / Michael Douglas), McCullum, Oram and the mightly Flem.

I don’t know the names of the England players in this particular banner, but with team bonding sessions at the pub I’ll learn ‘em pretty quick. Nice opening win by the Kiwis though, Bondy and Styris doing the honours, giving me bragging rights at work on Monday.
